Making the most out of citizen science data to monitor SDGs: Recommendations and good practices for NSOs

About the event
Citizen Science initiatives have a significant potential to strengthen the monitoring of the SDGs. Successful examples exist in areas of environmental monitoring, gender statistics, and more. Major impediments to replicating these practices across countries and indicators are often related to quality considerations and low awareness about such data within official statistics community. A quality assurance framework and recommendations developed under CROWD4SDG initiative with contributions from UN partners and other authoritative organizations working with official statistics aim to address these constraints. The event highlighted this work, showcased the application in practice and provided space for exchange of experiences between NSOs.
